GENERAL ATOMICS ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS, INC. CERTIFIED FOR ISO 9001:2000

On February 4, 2004, RWTÜV USA Inc. certified that General Atomics Electronic Systems, Inc. (GA-ESI) had proven that it meets the Quality System requirements specified by ISO 9001:2000. This certification is valid until January 1, 2007. The high voltage capacitor and power supply product lines were previously certified to ISO 9001:1994 in June 1996. GA-ESI as a whole was certified to that standard in 2000. GA-ESI has established and applies a management system for the design and manufacture of energy storage capacitors, power supplies and related high voltage equipment, radiation monitoring products and systems, terminal automation products & systems, and the manufacture and test of Lynx Systems products.

GA-ESI quality management program prescribes the management controls to ensure that consistent and efficient design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, inspection, delivery, and services are delivered to our customers. The quality management program defines and implements a strategic quality plan that aligns the activities of all employees, including management, with the common focus of providing customer satisfaction through continuous improvements in the quality of all activities, products and services. Therefore, a strong quality culture is maintained and fostered throughout the company.

GAEP is a leading supplier of high voltage capacitors, high voltage, high power AC/DC switching power supplies, power conditioning and pulse power systems used in pulse power research facilities, lasers, accelerators, and a variety of other applications. GAEP is part of General Atomics Electronic Systems, Inc. (GA-ESI), an affiliate company of General Atomics. The GAEP product lines, formerly part of Maxwell Technologies, Inc., were purchased by General Atomics in March 2000 and merged with GA-ESI in January 2001. GA-ESI also designs and manufactures radiation-monitoring systems, and terminal automation products and manufactures and tests synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for the LYNX unmanned aircraft system.
